The agent based on magnesium for desulphurisation of iron melts is characterised by the fact the magnesium component is included in an alloy together with other alloy components which reduce the magnesium vapour pressure and/or act as deoxidisers. The magnesium component is separated from the others as an independent alloy, and is introduced into the melt according to the coinjection principle.
